Organiser
The Scientific Society of Medical Students of Greece – EEFIE was founded in 1993 and today it consists of 7 Branches, in each Medical Department of a Greek University, and has over 3,000 registered members.
Its aim is the scientific activation of medical students and the voluntary contribution of medical, social and educational work. The top event of the society is the Scientific Conference of Medical Students of Greece – ESFIE, which annually hosts thousands of health science students, giving them the opportunity to get acquainted with the scientific and research scene.
In its long course and with the extroversion that distinguishes it, it has developed stable partnerships with groups and other academic institutions, but also with the support of its sponsors it has managed and continues a multitude of actions of national scope outside the ESFIE, such as, Medical Apovasi (Support of Health Centres – Health Centres of remote islands and regions), EKYVE (Support of Health Centres of Northern Greece), ABCS3 (Applied Clinical Seminar with Scenarios for Students) in Thessaloniki, CCIMS (Clinical Seminar in Pathology & Surgery) in Patras and ECS (Emergency Cases School – Alexandroupolis).
Furthermore, numerous educational seminars are organized per Branch (wound suturing, first aid seminars, emergency cases, ECG, ultrasound etc.), actions aimed at raising awareness and activating society (voluntary blood donations, bazaar supporting vulnerable social groups, collection of essentials), workshops on medical and sensitive medical and social issues (addictive substances, bone marrow donation, sexual health, medical taboos, biomedicine, specialization in Greece and abroad and post-graduate options, etc.), workshops on medical and sensitive medical and social issues (addictive substances, bone marrow donation, sexual health, medical taboos, biomedicine, specialization in Greece and abroad and post-graduate options, etc.).
